Day 73: AGAPE
Mantra: I embrace my children the way GOD embraces His children. I’m their guardian angel.
How to Love Your Children Like God Loves You: A Storytelling Guide
There was once a mother who deeply desired to love her children the way God loved her. She knew His love was patient, kind, forgiving, and unwavering. But she wondered, "How can I embody this divine love in my daily life?"
One day, as she prayed for guidance, she felt led to the Scriptures, where God’s love for His children was revealed. She realized that if she followed His example, she could become a vessel of His love in her home.
1. Love Them with Patience – Just as God is Patient with Us
"The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy." – Psalm 103:8
The mother realized that patience is the foundation of godly love. Just as God does not rush or condemn His children when they make mistakes, she knew she must extend the same grace to her little ones.
Instead of snapping when her child spilled juice for the third time that day, she took a deep breath and gently said, "It’s okay, let’s clean it up together." She remembered how many times she had fallen short, yet God’s patience never ran out.
➡️ How to Apply This: When your child makes mistakes, respond with patience and gentleness. Speak calmly, correct with love, and remember that they are still learning—just as you are.
2. Speak Life Over Them – Just as God Speaks Life Over Us
"Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruits." – Proverbs 18:21
She began speaking blessings and affirmations over her children every morning:
"You are loved. You are wise. You are chosen by God."
She remembered how God’s Word was full of life-giving promises, and she knew that her words had the power to shape her children’s future.
➡️ How to Apply This: Be intentional with your words. Speak love, strength, and purpose over your children daily. Avoid harsh words that break their spirits—choose words that build them up instead.
3. Discipline with Love – Just as God Corrects Us with Grace
"For whom the Lord loves He corrects, just as a father the son in whom he delights." – Proverbs 3:12
The mother realized that discipline was not about punishment but about guiding her children toward wisdom.
Instead of yelling when her child disobeyed, she sat them down and explained, "I love you too much to let you grow up without understanding respect and obedience."
She remembered how God’s discipline always came with grace and restoration. She decided that whenever she corrected her children, she would follow it with a hug and a reminder of her love.
➡️ How to Apply This: When disciplining, stay calm and explain the lesson behind the correction. Let them know that your love is constant, even when they make mistakes.
4. Provide for Their Needs – Just as God Provides for Us
"And my God shall supply all your needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus." – Philippians 4:19
The mother realized that love isn’t just expressed through words—it’s also in provision.
She ensured her children had not only food, clothing, and shelter but also emotional and spiritual nourishment. She prayed over them, created a home filled with peace, and gave them undivided attention when they needed it.
➡️ How to Apply This: Meet your child’s needs beyond just physical care. Be present, provide emotional safety, and give them spiritual guidance to grow into strong, faith-filled individuals.
5. Love Them Unconditionally – Just as God’s Love for Us Never Fails
"Nothing can separate us from the love of God." – Romans 8:38-39
One night, her child came to her in tears, afraid she had disappointed her mother. The mother gently took her child’s face in her hands and said, "There is nothing you could ever do to make me stop loving you."
At that moment, she understood the heart of God—His unwavering, unconditional love. She promised that no matter what, her children would always know they were deeply loved.
➡️ How to Apply This: Reassure your children that your love is not based on their behavior or achievements—it is constant, just like God’s love for us. Make sure they never doubt that they are cherished.
Final Thoughts
As the mother continued her journey, she saw how her love transformed her home. Her children flourished, her relationships deepened, and she felt the presence of God in her motherhood like never before.
God had answered her prayer—not with a single revelation, but with daily opportunities to love like Him. And so, she embraced each moment as an act of divine love, knowing she was raising her children in the image of His perfect love.
